Thinking about CHS? Select one of the options below that best fits your situation for more information on how to visit or apply.

Incoming Freshman

An incoming freshman is a student that is currently in 8th grade or has recently completed the 8th grade. Check out the events and opportunities below to begin your journey with CHS.

  • 8th Grade Visitation Days – Current 8th grade students are invited to visit Catholic High School and experience a portion of the school day as if they were already a Crusader! Participants spend the day in a group setting, attending classes with other CHS students, touring the campus, and learning about all that CHS has to offer.

Visitation days are from 7:45am to 12pm, beginning in the CHS Gymnasium. Parents are asked to drop off their students in the Gym Circle and pick up their student at the parking lot on the corner of West Scott St and W Street at 12pm. Students do not need to bring a snack or lunch. Cell phones are permitted but need to be silenced. Dress code for girls is knee length skirts or long pants, with shirts that cover the collarbone and have sleeves. Dresses may be worn but must be knee length, have sleeves, and cover the collarbone. Dress code for boys is long pants, shirt, and belt. All shoes must have a back, no flip flops or slide shoes. Jeans and shorts are not permitted.

  • High School Placement Test – All students who wish to attend CHS are required to take the CHS Placement Test. The STS High School Placement Test (HSPT) assesses cognitive abilities, both verbal and non-verbal, and basic skills including reading, mathematics and language arts. Middle School academic information from the student’s current school will be used, along with the Placement Test results, to determine academic placement in the CHS academic program.

Pre-registration is not required. Test takers should arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the test and bring two #2 pencils, the $20 test fee (cash or check made payable to Pensacola Catholic High School), and the completed CHS Placement Test Application Form. Questions? Please contact Nina Blay at nblay@pensacolachs.org or 850-436-6400 ext. 683.
