CHS requires all students to complete one 1/2 credit course, Digital Literacy. Numerous additional Technology elective courses are available. Three of the technology courses offered each semester will prepare students to complete professional certification exams.
Digital Literacy
(Gr. 9) Sem 1 6121
This course is designed to equip students with many of the needed skills to excel in a digital world. Students will be taught a broad range of concepts and skills from basic hardware/software concepts and configurations to diverse applications as well as the appropriate use of the internet. These include, but are not limited to: digital study skills, keyboarding, laptop care and maintenance, digital citizenship, multimedia design, short film production and basic coding.

Advanced Digital Literacy (H)
(Gr. 9-12) Sem 1 6141(H)
This course is designed for students who have demonstrated mastery of the basic use of digital technology. Students in this class will be introduced to a broad range of advanced software/hardware concepts. These include digital citizenship, keyboarding, multimedia design, film production, cybersecurity, and coding.
Prerequisites: $30 course fee.
Introduction to Computer Science
(Gr. 10-12) Sem 2 6651 (H) 6652 (ACP)
This course is an entry-level computer programming course, designed to teach students basic object-oriented programming, theories, and strategies using a graphical and animated approach to learning. These strategies include problem solving, data types and variables, conditional statements, and looping. This course is specifically designed for students with no prior programming experience.

Introduction to Technology
(Gr. 10-12) Sem 1 or 2 6811 / 6812 (H/ACP)
Introduction to Technology addresses technology as being a vehicle for problem solving, communication, and personal expression. The course will explore the impact of technology on society as well as teaching programming network and internet, Javascript, graphics, and cyber hygiene.

Video Game Design
(Gr. 10-12) Sem 1 or 2 6821 / 6822 (H/ACP)
Video Game Design teaches the foundations of creating video games in JavaScript. The curriculum teaches the foundations of programming logic with the emphasis on the use of Java Script in producing video games.

App Development I
(Gr. 10-12) Sem 1 or 2
This course introduces students technologies, design and development related to applications. App Development II
(Gr. 10-12) Sem 1 or 2 6228 (ACP)
This course is designed for students who have demonstrated mastery of basic app development. This course has an in-depth focus and emphasis on software development. Integrated development tools, software development kits, and software subsystems are to be employed to develop databases, mobile and computer applications. Cybersecurity I
(Gr. 10-12) Sem 1 or 2 6119 (H) 6219 (ACP)
This course will teach trends in cybersecurity development, explaining why it is important, its purpose, and how it is used to secure data. Students will evaluate the trends and patterns that will determine the future state of cybersecurity and will work in a lab-based environment to critique and assess the strengths and weaknesses of general cybersecurity models. Cybersecurity II

The goal of this course is to teach advanced knowledge of cybersecurity to help in identifying and stopping various cyber threats. Students will continue to build upon concepts covered in Cybersecurity I, including an in-depth analysis of TCP/IP, network security, operating system security, and basic cryptography. AP Computer Science Principles

This course introduces students to the foundational concepts of computer science and challenges them to explore how computing and technology can impact the world. With a unique focus on creative problem solving and real-world applications, AP Computer Science Principles prepares students for college and career.
