In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, the Catholic Crusaders secured a decisive 4-0 victory against Washington High School, under first year Coach John Guidroz. The Crusaders showcased their offensive prowess and solid defensive strategy, dominating the match from start to finish.
The Crusaders controlled the game with 58.4% possession, effectively dictating the pace and flow. Their aggressive play led to 20 shots on goal, a testament to their relentless attacking strategy. The team also tallied 22 crosses and earned 8 corner kicks, keeping Washington’s defense on high alert throughout the match.
With a pass success rate of 59%, the Crusaders displayed strong ball control, completing 139 successful passes out of 234 attempts.
Defensively, the Crusaders were resolute, limiting Washington High to just one shot throughout the match, led by Senior center back Emma Lacour and Junior GK Lily Rodriguez, showcasing their commitment to a strong defensive unit. Jenna Kisner, freshman, took player of the game honors in her debut as a Crusader, netting two goals in her first showing. Sophmore Addison Manning, who led the Crusders in offensive production last year, also shined brightly, adding a goal and 5 shots on target along with freshman Addison Pham, who secured her first goal of the year as well.
